Program Director of the Youth Energy Squad
Bryan Lewis, an inspiring leader within the Southfield and Detroit area discovered his passion to serve the community early into his career. He served as a Board Member in the Michigan Community Foundation Youth Project Committee for three years. From his experience Bryan identified the youth as a key aspect in developing and creating more sustainable communities. Bryan Lewis graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Science (M.S.), Energy Science, Technology, and Policy in 2014. Months after graduation, he discovered the Youth Energy Squad (YES).
He is now beginning his first year as YES Program Director with a strong drive and passion to implement programs that will help communities become self-sustaining. Bryan joined YES with a vision to make a difference and impact communities. He said “I came back to Detroit after graduating from college because I want to give back to my community. I believe Detroit and surrounding communities will make a comeback. As YES Program Director my mission is to ensure that the communities our programs impact will be self-sustaining and better off.”
