Water Program Manager
Patrick Gubry is the Water Programs Manager within EcoWork’s Residential Education program. Patrick formerly served with EcoWorks’ Youth Energy Squad (YES) as the Program Director, Program Manager, and an AmeriCorps Green School Coordinator. During that time, YES students led energy and water saving campaigns in their schools and saved over $770,000 in utility costs. Connecting school to home, YES students led over 2,400 Home Energy Saving Visits and over 1,100 parents learned how to lower their utility bills in Energy and Water Saving Workshops. In the process, YES students met President Obama in a round table discussion, earned the prestigious Governor’s Service Award, earned wages of over $190,000 and direct scholarships of over $130,000 during summer youth employment, and received numerous other recognitions for their work.
Patrick has also performed over 500 water, irrigation, and energy audits in Colorado.
During this work of helping students reach their full potential, Patrick saw how critically important student’s access to fundamental needs such as water, warmth, and food were to their success. While Patrick’s grandfather was a plumber and he enjoys bathroom remodeling in his free time, his true passion for this work is helping to realize the vision of access to clean, safe drinking water for students and all residents in Southeastern Michigan.
