Energy Smart trainings empower people to take control of their utility bills to save energy, water, and money. All trainings do not just educate – they provide the knowledge, motivation, and tools for attendees to take action and lower their utility bills.

Eco-D Goals:

  • Create community-led economic development that uses best practices and innovations from the field of sustainability

  • Drive the sustainable evolution of Detroit neighborhoods by coordinating multiple innovations to support basic services

  • Unify efforts under an inspiring goal that will attract more effort and support to accelerate Detroit’s rebirth

  • Set a precedent of responsive and responsible development for the benefit of Detroit’s citizenry

  • Add two communities per year, for the first three years

 

Working with partners Community Development Associates of Detroit (CDAD), Greening of Detroit, Detroit Future City, Vista Vantage Consulting, the City of Detroit, the Michigan State Housing and Development Authority (MSHDA), the national EcoDistricts organization, and most essentially the communities themselves, Eco-D will provide a road map for immediate action and sustained change.
