Michigan Community Energy Partnership (MI-CEP)

Purpose: To support one another to increase our collective capacity to engage community leaders and institutional decision-makers in setting and achieving clean energy solutions. We offer quality technical assistance, effective project management, inspiring stakeholder engagement and otherwise add additional capacity to decision making partners.


EcoWorks—working with 35 government partners and 300 business partners, EcoWorks has served over 50,000 individuals through supporting 200 “green jobs”, and have generated more than $30 million in energy savings. EcoWorks serves Southeast Michigan municipalities offering non-profit energy management and planning services.

Southeast Michigan Regional Energy Office (SEMREO)—specifically formed to serve the energy efficiency and renewable energy needs of Southeast Michigan’s municipalities. SEMREO’s work has saved local governments over $6 million since its inception, and now serves 27 member municipalities.

SEEDS—serving Northwestern Michigan municipalities through energy management, SEEDS is a collective of designers ranging from educational curriculum to wastewater treatment systems that bring a holistic perspective to design challenges and help communities make durable decisions about their future.(Contact: Sarna Salzman, sarna@ecoseeds.org // (231) 947-0312)

Michigan Energy Options—since 1978, after serving more than 2 million people, 6,000 businesses, and 50 municipalities all throughout mid and upper Michigan, MEO has helped eliminate more than 426 million pounds of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere through the adoption of energy efficiency and renewable energy research, projects and programs.
